We get many, many, customers requesting our 'High Mileage' oil packages. That's great! But the truth is, 9 out of 10 times we recommend against using High Mileage oil. Why?... Because 9 out of 10 times the customer believes that 'High Mileage' oil will allow them to travel longer distances between oil changes. Sorry, that's NOT the case! In this instance the oil manufactures use of the term 'High Mileage' oil is referring to older vehicles, or vehicles with 'higher mileage' odometer readings. The general rule of thumb is a vehicle that has 75,000 miles or more on its odometer. But just because a vehicle has 75,000+ odometer miles DOES NOT necessarily mean it's ready for 'High Mileage' oil. Candidate vehicles for 'HM' oil should be determined by their over-all engine health. Does your older vehicle burn oil? Leak oil? Run rough? Tick or knock loudly?... There are many determining factors. In cases like this, yes, your vehicle may be ready for 'HM' oil. 'HM' oil is formulated with special additives to help combat, or at the very least, try to mitigate some of the "issues" that become common with a well-worn engine. One example of a special additive in 'HM' oil is a seal conditioner that absorbs into the various seals, gaskets, valves, and O-rings of your older, worn, engine. The 'HM' seal conditioner will cause these worn, dried, cracked components that have been damaged by many years of extreme temperature fluctuation and combustion abuse, that may now leak oil, to soften and expand ever-so-slightly, helping to lessen, or possibly stop them from leaking. Though debatable, we generally recommend if you start using 'HM' oil that you continue using it - if not at every oil change, then every-other to prevent the engine seals, gaskets, and O-rings from re-shrinking and potentially allowing an oil leakage situation to return.
Our oil filters are manufactured by MANN+HUMMEL - the universal global leader in oil filter design. MANN+HUMMEL uses German engineered technology manufactured in USA based facilities. However, since the pandemic, some models of filters are manufactured at their overseas facilities. Every MANN+HUMMEL oil filter is guaranteed to meet or exceed your OEM specification for fit, form, and function.
Due to low demand and the logistics of stocking the extraordinary variety of both gas and diesel products, Easy Lube On-Site Oil Change currently does not service diesel powered vehicles.
We take payment when we return your keys. We accept cash, 1st party checks, and all major credit cards (add 3% surcharge if paying by credit card). If you require other payment arrangements let us know and we'll be happy to accommodate you.
For efficiency we suggest you check the forecast before planning your appointment. We have no problem servicing your vehicle in misty/light rain conditions. In the event of moderate - heavy rain we'll ask to reschedule your appointment. Snow storms and sub-freezing temperatures (mid 20's and lower) preclude us from safely servicing your vehicle. No matter the time of year we will always run your engine until it reaches a reasonable operating temperature before we start our service. This ensures the old oil will flow freely and suspend contaminants for efficient, thorough, and proper old oil removal.
To find the best answer to this question you should first read your vehicle owners manual. Most drivers fail to realize that the majority of vehicles driven in Upstate NY fall under what your owners manual classifies as 'severe driving conditions': stop & go traffic, frequent short distances (especially in freezing temperatures), heavy loads, dusty/gravel roads, mountain travel, or driving highway speeds in very hot weather. These conditions shorten the life of your motor oil and require that it, along with your oil filter, be changed on a more frequent schedule. As your service provider, we'll ask you about your specific driving habits and make a "best practices" recommendation for you. Currently, we generally recommend oil change intervals for Synthetic Blend oils at 4,000 miles and Full Synthetic oils at 6,000 miles. Either way you can rest assured that our superior quality oils will protect your engine!
We focus on providing service with care and excellence. We won't hastily rush our work. Our aim is to provide quality service done correctly, thoroughly, cleanly, and safely. You can expect your Easy Lube oil change to take one hour from start to finish.

Absolutely not! In fact it's illegal for a dealer to deny your warranty coverage simply because you had routine maintenance performed by someone else. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), makes it illegal for manufacturers or dealers to claim that your warranty is void or deny you warranty coverage simply because someone other than the dealer did the work. Easy Lube provides every customer with a detailed report documenting the service performed and parts installed on your vehicle. Simply keep this document as your proof of maintenance. Should you ever need another copy let us know and we'll send you a reprint.
